YouTuber Purposely Crashed Plane in Publicity Stunt to Get Views (VIDEO)
Some people will do anything for popularity and their time in the limelight.
Over the years, I’ve seen several YouTubers who have lied about a variety of things in order to generate views to their channel.
For example, there is a couple of young guys who found out that they were both dying of different illnesses, and they searched and searched for help. And you know what they think was that magically healed them? A chiropractor.
Now, that’s pretty scummy, but the stunt that one man recently pulled to generate millions of views and subscribers to his channel was really bad, and he’s been caught red-handed.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a daredevil YouTuber abandoned his plane mid-flight and parachuted to safety last year as a PR stunt, stating that it was all a horrible catastrophe in order to garner a few million views on the video channel.
In a video posted to YouTube on Nov. 24, Trevor Jacob depicted what he claimed was a life-saving parachute jump from his plane before it crashed in the Los Padres National Forest in California after the propeller supposedly stopped operating during a flight.
According to a letter acquired by The New York Times, Jacob was barred from flying by the Federal Aviation Administration on April 11 for operating a single-engine aircraft in a “careless or reckless manner so as to endanger the life or property of another.”
“You demonstrated a lack of care, judgment and responsibility by choosing to jump out of an aircraft solely so you could record the footage of the crash,” the agency said. “Your egregious and intentional actions on these dates indicate that you presently lack the degree of care, judgment and responsibility required of a certificate holder.”
Take a look at the video below. Tell me if you think it’s suspicious. I would point out the short amount of time that he spent trying to restart the plane and the lack of radioing in the problem.
