Man Bursts Into Flames After Being Tased by Police
When I was a kid, I was always fascinated by the strange and unusual.
I grew up watching the X-Files, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and Unsolved Mysteries. I always enjoyed the crazy stuff in Unsolved Mysteries like aliens, UFOs, and any other strange paranormal events.
One of them that always interested me was spontaneous human combustion. I never knew what to make of it. Was it real? Was it fake? Was it real, but there was an explanation for what was happening? To this day, I still don’t really have an answer to these questions, but I would lean more toward them not being real.
But what happened to a man in New York is something that really makes you say, “huh?
A man literally burst into flames when he was tased by a police officer. This one has an explanation though.
According to Fox News,
Moments earlier, the 29-year-old had sprayed himself over his face and body with alcohol-based hand sanitizer. It happened in a police station about a half-hour drive south of Albany, in a village with a population of just over 4,000.
The incident caused catastrophic injuries, and he succumbed to them Wednesday, according to the state attorney general’s office, dying at the hospital where he’d been a patient for more than six weeks.
Sadly, police in Catskill, NY don’t wear bodycams so there is no video of this event. However, it is said that it may have been captured on surveillance cameras inside the police station.
This one makes sense and it’s not even the first record of something like this happening. Back in 2017, a man who was high on meth poured gasoline on himself and was threatening to burn down his house with him. The police shot him with a taser and he burst into flames as well as the house.
