WATCH: Man Punches School Board Member After Debate Over ‘Racially Insensitive’ Mascot
The country we live in now is absolutely ridiculous. We live in a time where people seem to think that violence is the only way to solve problems, when it doesn’t solve any problems at all.
Far too often I see videos online or reading stories about people who end up shooting someone over the dumbest things.
Somebody cuts off someone else in traffic and then the other guy gets mad and shoots them. Is this really worth going to prison for the rest of your life over? Do you want to literally ruin your entire life because someone made you mad by pulling in front of you on the road? Get over it!
While it seems that many people have become crueler during the past two years as we go through this pandemic, I’ve made it a point to be kinder to other people and more patient with them. Maybe they made a mistake. Maybe they have an emergency. Let’s start giving people the benefit of the doubt rather than just assuming that they’re being a jerk.
Well, that’s not the attitude that was taken at a Connecticut school board meeting last week as a debate turned violent.
The incident occurred at a special meeting in which they were discussing changing the name of the school’s team from the “Tomahawks” to the “Guardians” because the former is too insensitive.
In reality, they’re not upset over the name, they’re just social justice warriors who think that they need to fight every battle and pretend to be offended along the way. I know how these people think.
Regardless, things got heated after one of the school board members got in the face of one of the parents and pushed him. The man didn’t take kindly to that sort of action and he swung at him knocking him to the ground.
Should the man have hit him? Probably not. I understand why he did since he was being pushed, but he probably should have kept his calm a little longer. Should the man have pushed him over words? Absolutely not and he learned the hard way.
