Biden Regretting What He Said in 1972
As Joe Biden gears up for his potential re-election bid in 2024 at the ripe age of 80, it’s worth noting that the former Senator once called his opponent too old to serve in Congress. In the 1972 Delaware Senate race against Cale Boggs, Biden, then 29 years old, criticized Boggs for his age of 63, stating that he was “senile” and unfit to serve.
Fast forward to today, and it seems that Biden has changed his tune on age and fitness for serving. In fact, many Democrats and Americans as a whole are questioning if he is too old for the job, with some even suggesting that he should step down and allow Kamala Harris to take over the presidency. Personally, I don’t know why people are even questioning it, it’s obvious that he’s too old and needs to get back to the retirement home. I know we don’t want someone like Kamala Harris in charge either, so we’re just kinda screwed here until 2024.
Despite these concerns, Biden continues to run for re-election and push his policies, such as his infrastructure plan and proposed tax hikes. This begs the question: if he once believed that age was a factor in serving in Congress, why is he now pushing past the age of 80 to serve as president? Well, it’s because it was just a tactic to win back then, and now it favors him to deny that he’s too old. It’s all just politics, as usual.
Although the White House claims that Biden has made significant progress and has been well-received by younger Americans, a recent poll shows that only 38 percent of 18 to 29 American registered voters approve of Biden. Despite this, the White House further stated that Biden has made unprecedented investments in climate change, issued a first-of-its-kind executive order on police reform, supported decriminalizing marijuana, and expanded health coverage for more Americans.
In reality, he hasn’t done anything to help anyone in this country except for himself and his family to protect them from prosecution. We are much worse off under Biden than we were under Trump, or honestly even under Obama. Nobody wants him to run again, but he doesn’t care and is doing it anyway.
