YouTube Demonetizes Thousands of Videos Which Push These “Extreme Views”
On Wednesday, YouTube removed thousands of videos from its platform and demonetized many channels in the partner program.
Supposedly, it’s in an effort to prevent hate speech, but in reality, it’s a tactic to silence conservatives. But it’s perfectly legal for people to buy youtube subscribers and views with PayPal and promote any kind of content they want to, especially since Youtube is a free video-streaming platform.
Some content, for example, is hundreds of Steven Crowder videos such as his “Change My Mind” episodes.
If you’re unfamiliar with these videos, what typically happens is that he sets up a table to have a dialogue with one person at a time about a controversial topic. They are always done in good taste on Steven Crowder’s part, though often times students get indignant and just need a safe space to cry in.
If we can’t have a dialogue about a topic, how on earth is anyone going to learn from one another?
According to The New York Times,
YouTube announced plans on Wednesday to remove thousands of videos and channels that advocate neo-Nazism, white supremacy and other bigoted ideologies in an attempt to clean up extremism and hate speech on its popular service.
The new policy will ban “videos alleging that a group is superior in order to justify discrimination, segregation or exclusion,” the company said in a blog post. The prohibition will also cover videos denying that violent events, like the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, took place.
YouTube did not name any specific channels or videos that would be banned. But on Wednesday, numerous far-right creators began complaining that their videos had been deleted, or had been stripped of ads, presumably a result of the new policy.
“It’s our responsibility to protect that, and prevent our platform from being used to incite hatred, harassment, discrimination and violence,” the blog post said.
Conservativism is gaining ground in the United States very strongly. You wouldn’t know it by watching the news because they’ve got their own propaganda to push, but when you take a step back from the mainstream media and start looking around, you’ll notice that people are finally starting to wake up to the nonsense of liberalism.
So as the free speech apocalypse is fallen upon us my thoughts are…bring it on!
