Why Liberals Should Stop Celebrating Obesity in Light of ‘Body Positive’ Movement
Let me start this off by saying that body shaming is a bad thing. We should never purposefully make someone feel bad or bully them because of how they look.
It doesn’t matter if it’s because they’re overweight, anorexic, skin color, hairstyle, honestly, anything visual. Because really, what’s the purpose other than being cruel?
That being said, I also think that this recent liberal idea of celebrating your body no matter how it looks, particularly in the case of obesity is a danger in multiple regards.
Being obese leads to a slew of ailments that can and often do accompany it such as diabetes, heart disease, strokes, high blood pressure, breathing problems, and even premature death,
One of the biggest things that should awaken people to the dangers of obesity is this recent “forbidden illness” we’ve been dealing with.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 73% of the half a million Americans who have died from (forbidden illness) since the pandemic began were obese or overweight.
As reported by the Daily Wire, “The data of one study group found 46% of those who have died from the virus were obese and 27.3% were overweight. A body mass index (BMI) above 30 is considered obese, while overweight people have a BMI of 25 to 29.9. In the U.S., about 70% of Americans are considered overweight, with 42.4% classified as obese.”
“In addition, the CDC found that nearly eight in 10 people hospitalized for the virus were either obese or overweight,” the report added.
According to the World Obesity Federation, “only old age rates as a higher risk factor” for (forbidden illness) death, and that “Increased body weight is the second greatest predictor of hospitalization and a high risk of death” for those who catch the virus.
Seriously though, this is what people are saying:

There is nothing healthy about it. It should not be celebrated. I know that circumstances occur in life that make this happen and it’s not just because people are lazy, but let’s not pretend that it’s health. The virus has proven that it’s dangerous.
