Who Would Have Guessed? Antifa is Mostly “Oppressed” Rich White Kids
Over the past few weeks, tensions have been rising between the public and Antifa. As it turns out, these “anti-fascist” thugs are mostly made up of young, white people from affluent backgrounds. This fact was further reiterated after the recent arrest of Rep. Katherine Clark’s adult child for alleged Antifa-related crimes in Boston.
Last weekend, they terrorized Atlanta with a violent insurrection. Not only did they clash with police, but they also caused havoc around downtown Atlanta resulting in increased property damage and injury to law enforcement officers. While initially assumed to be a minority uprising against “systemic oppression”, the latest revelation suggests something far different. Many of these Antifa terrorists come from privileged backgrounds and are heavily shielded by their parents’ wealth and privileges.
An example of such an individual is Francis Carroll, who was caught on camera setting fire to a police cruiser on Saturday night. With his sinisterly intimidating appearance, he fits perfectly into this newly formed mold of Antifa militants coming from affluent families and backgrounds.
PJ Media reported,
Carroll hails from Kennebunkport, Maine — yep, the same Kennebunkport that is home to the Bush family compound. And we all know that towns with compounds are always fancy. He’s the scion of a multimillion-dollar family that owns a yacht, and he lived in his parents’ mansion before coming to Atlanta to wreak havoc.
Over at the New York Post, Andy Ngo notes that Carroll “was among six people arrested and charged with domestic terrorism, aggravated assault and other crimes on Dec. 13 following a string of property attacks around the area, a carjacking and assaults on officers. They were all bailed out by activists who crowdfunded their legal defense using Twitter.”
So why does this demographic continue to be drawn to protest movements such as Antifa? It could be argued that these people are dissatisfied with the state of society and feel empowered to make a change when using their financial backing or because they have access to resources not available for those living under poverty or oppression.
Whatever their motivation may be, it’s clear there is a trend amongst wealthy youth towards protesting and joining radical movements like Antifa which cannot be ignored any longer. We’ve been yelling it from the rooftops for years, but Democrats continue to deny they even exist and are even pulling the “mostly peaceful” crap again.
