WATCH: New Footage of Ashli Babbitt Shooting Released
Many of you out there have seen the video footage at the Capitol on January 6th and saw how the events really transpired.
There is still a lot of questions that remain unanswered, but there is one thing that we can say with certainty…Ashli Babbitt was murdered that day by a Capitol police officer.
There was no reason that Ashli Babbitt should have been shot. She posed no immediate threat. It was just a trigger-happy officer who felt like shooting someone.
I could do like the media does and try and put a racial twist on it and say that it was because she was white, but I don’t really believe that to be true. I think he just has poor judgment like many officers do and resorted to lethal force immediately instead of understanding what was really going on in that moment.
Now, there is new video footage of the shooting that has been released and obtained by Judicial Watch.
The video was taken with a cell phone from another angle and shows how the Capitol Police gathered behind the protestors while they were trying to break into the corridor of the Senate chambers.
Judicial Watch issued a press release along with the video release:
Piece by piece we’re putting together a clearer picture of the unnecessary shooting death of Ashli Babbitt on January 6, 2021, in the U.S. Capitol Building. Our suspicion about the tragic affair is heightened by the government’s recalcitrance in releasing the information it has.
This week we received multiple audio, visual and photo records from the DC Metropolitan Police Department about death at the hands of a Capitol Police officer. The records include a cell phone video of the shooting and an audio of a brief police interview of the shooter, Lt. Michael Byrd.
We obtained the material through a May 2021 FOIA lawsuit filed after DC officials failed to respond to two April, 2021 FOIA requests to the Metropolitan Police Department and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for records related to Babbitt’s death (Judicial Watch v. The District of Columbia (No. 2021 CA 001710 B)).
Babbit’s killer will never face trial. He’ll never be held accountable for the murder he committed, at least not while we’re on this planet. Go
