This month has been a battle to defend religious freedom in the United States, but thankfully, Christian values came out on top of this battle.

On Thursday, the Indianapolis Public Library’s main branch was filled with adults and children who came to hear actor, writer, and film producer Kirk Cameron read his recently published children’s book, “As You Grow”. Initially, the library organization had denied Cameron the opportunity to read the book at a story hour event, but later changed their decision.

According to Zac Bell, who is with the book’s publisher, BRAVE Books, the library initially denied the request for the reading but eventually allowed it after receiving a letter threatening legal action.

The event, which was held on the sixth floor in a small room despite the presence of an auditorium in the building, drew a large turnout. In one of the videos, you hear Cameron say that there were something like 300-400 people outside waiting their turn to come in. Who knows how many people actually showed up throughout the day.

In fact, according to Bell, it was the largest event in the library’s 137-year history. Photos of the event show families sitting on the floor and standing against the walls to listen to Cameron read his book, which centers around the growth of a tree and teaches children about family, faith, and biblical wisdom.

Cameron and his publisher have recently criticized libraries that have declined to allow public readings of his book but have held “drag queen story hours” for children. However, Cameron wrote on social media, “No more will the family of faith be shut out from the public square!” During the event in Indianapolis, Cameron thanked the crowd for coming and encouraged them to find more great books to read to their children. He is scheduled to hold a reading of his book at the Scarsdale Library in New York on Friday.

This is a message to every library in the United States:
