For the life of me I can’t even begin to understand why the left is so up in arms about WNBA star Brittney Griner and the whoel ordeal that she is going through in Russia right now.

They caught her smuggling drugs into Russia, she even pled guilty to it. Finally, last week, the verdict was rendered, and her judgment was announced. She was given 9 and a half years in a Russian prison for her crimes.

Newsweek reported,

During closing arguments earlier in the day, Russian prosecutors asked for the two-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist to be sentenced to 9.5 years in a penal colony, according to Tass, the Russian state-run news agency.

Griner, 31, was arrested and accused of possession of vape cartridges containing cannabis oil at a Moscow airport in February, during the lead-up to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine later that month. Maria Blagovolina, a lawyer for the Russian firm representing Griner, argued that the basketball star did not use marijuana while in Russia. Her defense team has maintained that Griner mistakenly packed the cartridges and that she was prescribed medical marijuana by a doctor for pain treatment.

Griner pleaded guilty in early July to bringing the cartridges into Russia, where she was playing during the WNBA’s offseason. Her lawyers have said the guilty plea was made as an admittance of responsibility and should be considered during sentencing.

Liberals may not like that she is in trouble because she’s a token black lesbian, but facts are facts. Democrats just can’t understand that, not even White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

KJP said last week that Griner was “wrongfully detained”. How exactly? More reporters that sit in front of KJP need to start asking these sorts of questions instead of letting some of this nonsensical crap spew from her mouth. She made a claim, but you can’t just make a claim like that with not justification. What exactly makes it wrong, according to Russian law, to detain someone smuggling drugs? Not a d**n thing!

KJP went on to say that she, “never should have had to endure a trial in the first place.” Again, I ask, why not? Did she break Russian law or not? It’s that simple. But because KJP is a fellow black lesbian she’s going to try and stick up for another one.
