WATCH: Biden Does It Again…Just Wait Until You Hear the Nonsense
Well, Joe Biden has done it again; he has backed himself into a corner with a profusion of illogical utterances.
This time, Biden was speaking with Jake Tapper of CNN. Even for a well-spoken individual, the president’s task of defending his economic record was challenging. Although he believes a recession is not imminent, he noted that it would be “very slight” if there were to be one. Then Biden continued bragging about all his “legislative victories,” including the “Inflation Act” and the “American Rescue Plan.” That was his description; the “Inflation Reduction Act,” as his proposal is officially known, may be better referred to as the “Inflation Act.”
Things got really interesting when Biden was asked if Americans should prepare for a recession. “No, look, they’ve been saying this now, how, every six months they say this,” Biden responded. Every six months, they look down at the next six months and say what’s gonna happen. It hadn’t happened yet.”
“It hadn’t — but — there — that had — there is no, there’s no guarantee that there’s gonna be — I don’t think there will be a recession. If it is, it will be a slight recession. That is, we will somewhat descend,” Biden continued.
Biden then changed the subject to what he saw as the successes of his administration.
“Think about what’s happened. We’ve done more, we’re in a better position than any other major country in the world, economically and politically. We still have real problems, but look, look, look, look, look what we got done,” he said.
Even though one of his handlers ought to have stopped Biden, he wasn’t finished. He launched into a rambling diatribe about the financial effects on American families who are concerned about rising energy prices. He recounted how his father used to advocate for middle-class families to have “breathing room” after paying all of their debts. In order to solve the energy crisis, he then suggested spending $368 billion on “the whole notion of globаl wаrming.”
At this point, he may have understood that the situation was not quite clear, so he tried to provide more information by saying, “It’s gonna to bring a billion, a trillion, 750 million dollars, billion dollars off the sidelines in investment. Look what’s happened. Look at the investment going on in America right now.”
Through it all, Tapper maintained a straight face and responded, “Yeah. So you think Democrats have something to run on.”
“Oh, I think we do, I know we do,” Biden responded.
