Tucker Tears Into Media During First Video for New Show
On Tuesday, Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, released the first episode of his new show on Twitter. The majority of his time was spent criticizing the viewpoints of those who back the Ukrainian war against Russian invasion. After Fox News settled a lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million, Carlson left the network. His show was the most-watched cable news program for many years, and since his departure, Fox News’ ratings have drastically decreased.
Recently, Carlson accused Fox News of breaching the contract and committing fraud in relation to his departure. On his first Twitter show, he criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Republicans who backed sending military aid and money to the country. He linked the media’s support for the war to a report that claimed that the U.S. had concealed an event where an unidentified flying object (UFO) was apparently retrieved.
In the 10-minute video, Carlson drew a comparison between Americans and the Russians who lived under ignorance and propaganda during the Soviet Union era.
“We’re the ones who live in ignorance now. The U.S. government has managed to classify more than a billion so-called public documents. So at this point, we can’t possibly know what our leaders are doing. We’re not allowed to know,” said Carlson.
“By definition, that is not a democracy,” he declared.
“Yet it’s fine with the media. Secrecy is a powerful tool of control. ‘Stop asking how we got so rich! Here’s another story about racism! Go eat each other!’ That’s the program. That’s how most of us live here in the United States, manipulated by lies, silenced by taboos,” Carlson continued.
“It is unhealthy, and it is dehumanizing, and we’re tired of it,” he added.
“As of today, we’ve come to Twitter, which we hope will be the short-wave radio under the blankets. We’re told there’s no gatekeepers here. If that turns out to be false, we’ll leave. But in the meantime, we are grateful to be here,” said Carlson.
“We’ll be back with much more very soon,” he concluded.
