Trump Gets Backlash After Attacking Kayleigh McEnany
President Trump is in my opinion, the best president that we’ve had in modern times. But as much as I appreciate him, sometimes he just does stupid things. One of those things is his recent attack on former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
President Trump’s attack on Kayleigh McEnany has been met with widespread criticism. On Tuesday, the former president took to social media to criticize his former press secretary for providing “wrong” poll numbers during her tenure in the White House. The comments were seen as a direct attack on McEnany and many saw it as an example of Trump’s false loyalty.
The initial reaction to Trump’s comments was one of disbelief and disappointment. Many saw it as a sign that the former president had not changed since leaving office and was still willing to lash out at those who had served him faithfully. Others noted that it was especially cruel given that McEnany had been one of his most loyal supporters during his time in office.
The backlash against Trump’s attack on McEnany quickly grew, with some calling it “unhinged” and “unnecessary” while others said it was a “final straw” in his false loyalty schtick. Even some of his own supporters were critical, with one New Hampshire lawmaker withdrawing their endorsement of Trump for the 2024 election over the incident.
“Attacking Kayleigh McEnany is insane. She was one of the best press secretaries ever,” “Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade said Wednesday morning before pointing out that McEnany was ” an analyst now. She doesn’t work for any campaign.”
“Imagine being so immature as to attack your former press secretary, who was nothing if not loyal, for allegedly misquoting a poll number,” tweeted Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume.

“This nonsense from Trump is a disgrace,” tweeted Trump’s former deputy director of communications Matt Wolking, who now works with a political committee that raises funds for DeSantis.
This nonsense from Trump is a disgrace. @kayleighmcenany slayed the fake news hoaxers and the liberal media activists day in and day out for years. She took countless arrows defending him and she was great at it. pic.twitter.com/z4ked5Eqsh

Jenna Ellis tweeted, “I will simply leave this here for when people ask why I and *many* others didn’t return for 2024.”

Trump’s attack on McEnany also sparked a debate about loyalty and its place in politics. Some argued that loyalty should be earned through respect and trust, not demanded or expected from those who serve you. Others pointed out that loyalty is often used as a tool by politicians to manipulate their followers into supporting them no matter what they do or say.
Ultimately, Donald Trump’s attack on Kayleigh McEnany has been widely condemned by both sides of the political spectrum as an example of why he should not be trusted with power again. It has also highlighted the importance of loyalty in politics and how leaders must earn it rather than demand it from their followers if they are to remain respected and trusted by them.
