Trump for U.S. Senate? It could happen in 2022
Most political “experts” have been assuming that Donald Trump Jr. would be the next big name from the Trump family to turn to politics, but that may not be the case.
With Senator Burr (R-N.C.) retiring at the end of his term in 2022 and current Chief of Staff Mark Meadows taking his name out of the hat, Lara Trump has emerged as a frontrunner for the North Carolina Senate seat that will be up for grabs, and she has not even announced her candidacy yet.
The Future of the Party
I can say without hesitation that if the Republican party wants to move forward and fight back against this uber-progressive movement within the Democrat party, we need new blood in the form of women and minorities.
We simply cannot continue to throw old white men into election after election and expect to energize the next generation of voters.
Seriously, does anyone think people like Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, and Chuck Grassley can relate to younger voters?
These people might be Republicans, but they are all also deeply entrenched in the swamp, and it is time to move on and create some buzz in this party.
The big wave of red in this year’s House races was a great example of what can be done if we start putting up the right candidates, as it was Republicans that added more women and minorities to Congress, NOT Democrats.
And, to think there is still room to improve. Look at the buzz created by Kim Klacik and at how close John James came to winning a Senate seat in Michigan. These are the faces that will bring in more voters to the conservative movement in this country.
Lara Trump… Step Up
North Carolina will be up for grabs, and if Mark Meadows is not going to run, a very safe bet to keep this seat red is going to be Lara Trump. She has very deep ties to the area and is extremely well-liked, largely being credited with Trump winning the state in 2020.
While she has the name, she does not have the brash personality that is associated with Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr., and that obviously means a lot. If we are all being completely honest, this election was more about personality and likability than anything else, and a significant number of Republicans, RINOs that they may be, sent a very hard message to the party about who they want to see on tickets. Voting personality over policy is idiotic, but that is what they did.
Lara Trump will immediately get the backing of Trump supporters and she is likable enough for the party members that left the Republican ticket to come back in 2022 to ensure this seat stays red.
While Lara Trump has yet to commit to running, reports are all over the place that she does have feelers out there to test the waters.
We say jump in, Lara, the water is warm!
