Top Republican Makes Announcement on Running for President in 2024
It’s still early and there is a ton of speculation in the air about who will run for president in 2024.
Most people are expecting that President Trump will run again, though that hasn’t been confirmed and likely won’t be confirmed for some time.
Then there is speculation on whether or not Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who is an early favorite for 2024, but only if President Trump decides not to run again.
Beyond that there has been talk of several others like Mike Pence or even Nikki Haley. But perhaps one man who has the best chance of winning the nomination would be Senator Ted Cruz.
He had a very strong showing in the 2016 election cycle. He was one of the people I would have wanted to win the election.
I’ll be quite honest, I didn’t want Donald Trump to win the nomination. I didn’t even vote for him in the general election back in 2016 (I didn’t vote for Hillary…I’m not a monster). But I was hoping Rand Paul was going to be the nominee. Then behind him I would have preferred Ted Cruz.
Well, Ted Cruz was asked about whether or not he would run again in 2024 and he gave a confident answer.
“Absolutely, in a heartbeat. I ran in 2016. It was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life,” Cruz said in an interview for the Truth Gazette. “We had a very crowded field, 17 candidates in the race, a very strong field. And I ended up placing second. There’s a reason historically that the runner up is almost always the next nominee and that goes back to Nixon or Reagan or McCain or Romney that has played out repeatedly. You come out with just an enormous base of support.”
EXCLUSIVE: I asked Sen. @TedCruz if he would ever consider another run for President.
His response: “Absolutely, in a heartbeat. I ran in 2016…very strong field and I ended up placing 2nd.”

I think this go around, the field is going to be much more decent towards one another, I really do. I don’t think that there will be as much attacking each other as there was back in 2016. I think President Trump did help bring together the Republican party.
