SNL Actually Pokes Fun At Democrats for Once and It’s Fantastic!
Saturday Night Live has a very bad habit of letting their bias show through WAY too much. Practically every skit has something to do with politics or they take a jab at Trump.
But this time SNL actually did a skit about the Democratic debate, even poking fun at each candidate and it was hilarious. This skit features a slew of celebrities impersonating the candidates.
Here is a list of each celebrity who represented each of the Presidential candidates: Andrew Yang (Bowen Yang), Pete Buttigieg (Colin Jost), Cory Booker (Chris Redd), Elizabeth Warren (Kate McKinnon), Amy Klobuchar (Rachel Dratch), Tom Steyer (Will Ferrell), Michael Bloomberg (Fred Armisen), Tulsi Gabbard (Cecily Strong) Bernie Sanders (Larry David), Joe Biden (Woody Harrelson) and Kamala Harris (Maya Rudolph).
In her impersonation of Warren, McKinnon dramatically raised her hand and reached over her podium to be the first candidate to answer the question. “I know in past debates I was accused of being over ambitious,” she said.
“I’ve got ‘Mom hosting Thanksgiving’ energy. I’m a little overwhelmed because I thought 10 people were coming and now there’s 30 million, but I promise dinner will be ready if you just get out of the kitchen and stop asking questions.”
“The fun is back, America’s fun aunt. I’m also America’s cool aunt,” Rudolph joked as she portrayed Harris.
“I’m not going to worry about the polling numbers. I’m just going to have fun and see if I can get some viral moments. Mama needs a GIF. Gonna tell my kids this was Michelle Obama.” (BuzzFeed)
If you’ve never seen it before, Larry David does the most AMAZING impersonation of Bernie Sanders. He nails his mannerisms, his speech, everything.
If SNL could just stop doing skits that are vehemently anti-Trump or anti-conservative, the show would be much better and they’d probably attract more viewers.
