Senator On the Hot Seat, Legislation Filed to Recall This GOP Senator
Utah Senator Mitt Romney is no fan of President Trump and that is no secret.
Now he is in the hot seat as Utah Rep. Tim Quinn filed a bill last week to recall Sen. Romney.
The bill was filed after months of Mitt Romney, aka Pierre Delecto, showing himself to be a RINO (Republican in Name Only) by talking negatively about the President and even voting against him in the impeachment trial.
Mitt Romney has caused such a problem between himself and the conservatives that he’s not even invited the CPAC. He has basically burned all bridges with the Republicans by voting alongside the Democrats in voting in favor of calling additional witnesses in the impeachment trial.
According to Fox News,
The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) made clear on Friday that Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, who formerly won the event’s straw poll in 2012, would not be welcome at the conference in February — an apparent response to the senator’s refusal to follow his party in the ongoing Senate impeachment trial of President Trump.
“The ‘extreme conservative’ and Junior Senator from the great state of Utah, @SenatorRomney is formally NOT invited to #CPAC2020,” tweeted Matt Schlapp, who leads the organization behind CPAC.
Schlapp later told Fox News that each year, CPAC “formally disinvite[s] someone who has been particularly egregious.”
“Mitt Romney deserved this [because] his Senate tenure is a waste and his vote was the latest outrage,” he added.
There is only one reason why Mitt Romney even identifies at a Republican and that’s just so he can remain in good standing with the Mormon church of which he belongs.
If he were to join the party who is known for ab***ion, then they would likely just kick him out of the church given how against it they are.
I don’t think that there is much question that he’s going to be losing his seat pretty soon.
