Senate hearing breaks out in a donnybrook… WHOA!
A Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing was scheduled and a good old-fashioned donnybrook broke out!
There is no denying how contentious things have become on the Hill over the last four years, but we rarely get to see disagreements like the one that broke out this week during an election integrity hearing by the Senate Homeland Security Committee.
The argument broke out between Senator Gary Peters (D-MI) and Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-WI).
To appreciate how tempers quickly flared, we have to go back to the early days of the Trump presidency.
Senator Peters was regularly among those pushing the Russian collusion narrative. He may not have the star-power and recognition of other Democrats, like Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), or Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), but Peters has a big voice in the party and his words hold weight.
Peters, like Schiff and Nadler, was adamant that Trump was guilty of collusion, something we all now know to be false. That, however, did not stop him from making speeches like this…
Trump’s Russian ties are festering, foreign infection & could weaken our democratic system. Special prosecutor is needed to address it. pic.twitter.com/Vwvp3Anok0

During Wednesday’s hearing, Johnson did not hold back on Peters, stating, “I just have to talk about Russian disinformation because the people peddling it are not on my side of the aisle.
“Senior Democrat leaders, including ranking member Peters, they were involved in a process of creating a false intelligence product, it was supposed to be classified, they leaked to the media, that accused Sen. [Chuck] Grassley, the president pro tempore of the Senate, and myself of accepting and disseminating Russian disinformation.”
He later added, “So it’s just galling – and I have to point out – that the purveyors of Russian disinformation, Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the DNC, the Steele dossier, the ranking member Peters accusing Sen. Grassley and I of disseminating Russian disinformation – that’s where the disinformation is coming, the lies, the false allegations.”
Peters attempted to come back at Johnson, but Johnson ripped him again once he had his time back.
Here is the video of the argument…
We can only hope the writers of this period of history are not liberal because if they give an honest version of what has happened over the last four years, I have no doubt people will be sickened by the behavior of Democrats and will finally realize it was not Trump creating the divide, but this class of Democrats, all of whom should be shunned and disgraced for what they have done to this country and to We the People for the last four years.
