Senate Demand FBI Records on Biden Crimes
Senators Chuck Grassley and James Comer have called on the FBI to release an unclassified record of an alleged criminal scheme involving former Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national. In a letter addressed to the FBI on Wednesday, Grassley and Comer requested that the bureau produce an FD-1023 form that purportedly documents a payment-for-policy exchange.
Comer issued a subpoena after undisclosed sources reported “legally protected disclosures” to Grassley’s office. The lawmakers said they believe that the FBI possesses an internal document containing very serious and detailed allegations involving Biden. They also expressed concern about the FBI’s previous handling of politically charged investigations and called for greater congressional oversight.
“We believe the FBI possesses an unclassified internal document that includes very serious and detailed allegations implicating the current President of the United States. What we don’t know is what, if anything, the FBI has done to verify these claims or investigate further. The FBI’s recent history of botching politically charged investigations demands close congressional oversight,” Grassley said in a statement.
The alleged scheme has not yet been verified, and the FBI has not commented on the request. If the FD-1023 form does exist, it could shed new light on Biden’s business dealings and influence on foreign policy decisions during his tenure as vice president. This development comes amid ongoing controversy over Biden’s son Hunter’s business activities in foreign countries.
In his own statement, Comer said that the “information provided by a whistleblower raises concerns that then-Vice President Biden allegedly engaged in a bribery scheme with a foreign national.”
“The American people need to know if President Biden sold out the United States of America to make money for himself. Senator Grassley and I will seek the truth to ensure accountability for the American people,” Comer continued.
