Schiff’s Stooge Threatened University Researcher in Trump-Russia Probe
In a shocking revelation, special counsel John Durham’s report exposed how a university researcher felt threatened by a staffer to Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and a Democrat senator after he declined to help them investigate the bogus claims of Trump-Russia collusion.
According to the report, the researcher and his colleague met with Schiff’s staffers and Sen. Jack Reed’s (D-RI) staffers in a secure conference room on Capitol Hill in November 2018. They thought they were going to brief them on university research contracts, but they were instead asked to analyze a news article about alleged links between the Trump Organization and Russia’s Alfa Bank.
The article was based on a discredited theory that a secret server in Trump Tower was communicating with the Russian bank, which was later debunked by the FBI and other experts. The theory was also promoted by Christopher Steele, the former British spy who compiled the infamous dossier that was used by the FBI to spy on Trump’s campaign.
The researcher told Durham that he felt it would be inappropriate for a public university to conduct that sort of research, and that he had no expertise or interest in the matter. He said he felt threatened when one of Schiff’s staffers said that their boss would soon take over leadership of the House Intelligence Committee, and that Reed’s staffer said he “could make it easier”.
The researcher then “dragged” his colleague out of the meeting and told him, “Don’t touch this with a ten foot pole, stay away from this.” He also informed the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency of the request from the congressional staffers and his objections to it.
This incident shows how Schiff and his cronies tried to intimidate and coerce a researcher who refused to join their witch hunt against Trump. They abused their power and authority to pressure him into supporting their false narrative of Trump-Russia collusion, which was later exposed as a hoax by Durham and former special counsel Robert Mueller.
Schiff should be held accountable for his actions and his lies. He has repeatedly claimed that he had evidence of collusion, but he never produced any. He also read parts of the Steele dossier into the congressional record, despite knowing that it was unverified and funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
Schiff is now running for Senate in California, hoping to replace Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA). He does not deserve to represent the people of California or anyone else. He is a disgrace to Congress and to the country. He should resign or be expelled from the House immediately.
