If you’re into politics much, and I’m sure you are if you’re taking the time to read this article, then you know how the whole cycle usually goes.

Nowadays, about a dozen or two candidates from each party throw their name into the hat at an attempt to become the next president of the United States of America. I used to not be that many, but there is so much opposition today even within the same parties that it’s just inevitable at this point.

Then begin the debates. There has to be a certain amount of funding that is raised in order to qualify for the debates. We all remember how great the debates of 2015 and 2016 were with President Trump completely dominating the field. He’s a master debater.

But if you’ve watched some of the debates, especially the general debates, then you know that they are extremely left leaning and biased against Republican candidates.

Well, the Republican National Committee has finally had enough of that and have unanimously voted to withdraw from the Commission of Presidential Debates (CPD) which is the body that regulates the general election debates.

In a statement, RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said the commission is “biased and has refused to enact simple and commonsense reforms to help ensure fair debates including hosting debates before voting begins and selecting moderators who have never worked for candidates on the debate stage.”

In a tweet, McDaniel added that the GOP is “going to find newer, better debate platforms to ensure that future nominees are not forced to go through the biased CPD in order to make their case to the American people.”

So then what is to come of the future of debates for the Presidential election? Well, they’re going to need to be conducted in a different way now.

The debates of 2020 was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Moderators were given the power to mute microphones in order that candidates couldn’t continue speaking or speak to one another.

This next presidential election cycle should prove to be an interesting one to say the least, but I’m ready for it. It couldn’t possibly get any worse than what we have not…could it?
