Riley Gaines Wrecks Dem Rep During Congressional Hearing (VIDEO)
Well, folks, it seems the circus is back in town. In a recent, fiery hearing on Biden’s proposal to rewrite Title IX, sparks flew between former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines and Democratic Rep. Summer Lee. The proposal aims to redefine sex to include “gender identity”, which could have significant implications for girls’ sports. If you thought common sense was making a comeback, hold your horses!
Now, let’s dive into the juicy details. Gaines, who has transitioned from being a swimmer to an advocate, was preemptively labeled as “transphobic” by Lee. How’s that for a warm welcome? But Gaines, bless her soul, didn’t take it lying down. She hit back, saying if her testimony made her transphobic, then Lee’s opening monologue made her a misogynist. Ouch! I bet no one saw that coming.
The Biden administration’s Title IX rewrite is a direct attack on women’s rights.@Riley_Gaines_ has more courage than many of our elected officials, who let men compete in women’s sports and invade female-only spaces instead of standing up to pressure from left-wing activists. pic.twitter.com/muptQ768cn

🚨BREAKING: After Democrat @RepSummerLee (D-PA) said @Riley_Gaines_ engages in "transphobic bigotry" by opposing boys in girls sports, Riley fired back by saying "if my testimony makes me transphobic then you are a misogynist."
Lee then moved to have her words taken down. pic.twitter.com/MdZRc4RgUM

But the drama didn’t end there. When Lee tried to have Gaines’ words taken down, she was unsuccessful. It seems like the truth does sting a bit. Gaines and other witnesses argued that refusing to separate sports by sex harms women and girls. They cited studies showing the physical differences between males and females post-puberty, even after hormone treatments. They also highlighted instances where female athletes had been physically harmed by biologically male opponents.
Gaines gave an example of a North Carolina volleyball player who suffered serious injury after a trans-identified male player spiked a ball at her head. The poor girl is still partially paralyzed on her right side and her vision is impaired. And she isn’t playing college sports, like she had dreamed of. So much for equality, huh?
Sarah Parshall Perry of The Heritage Foundation pointed out what most of us already know: men and women are different. She added that 70% of the American public wants sports separated by sex. But it seems like the Biden administration is more interested in appeasing left-wing activists than listening to common sense or the majority of Americans.
The hearing also mentioned DailyWire+ comedy “Lady Ballers,” which pokes fun at the radical gender ideology in women’s sports. Gaines said the movie “mocked the mockery” some on the Left have made of women and girls. Now, isn’t that something we all need to watch?
It’s clear that Biden’s proposal to rewrite Title IX is a direct attack on women’s rights. But as long as there are people like Gaines and Perry standing up for common sense, there’s still hope.
