Republican Flips Mayoral Seat Held by Democrats Since 2005!
Republicans handed quite a few defeats to the Democrats this week as elections took place in many parts of the country.
We’ve seen that the race for Governor of Virginia was easily won by Youngkin and thank God for that. That imbecile Terry McAuliffe was one of the worst people I’ve ever seen run for Governor. I honestly think that he would have been worse than Gavin Newsom.
Democrats managed to hold onto Phil Murphy in the race for Governor of New Jersey, but it wasn’t by much and honestly looks just like the election from last November in that he was losing and then magically found 40,000 votes to take the lead.
In another election, a New Jersey man who only spent $153 dollars on his campaign defeated the incumbent Democrat who probably spent tens of thousands of dollars on his campaign.
But another big election was in New Hampshire as a new Mayor was named. The winner was Paul Callaghan who won with a massive 66% of the vote against a Democrat.
For those who don’t know, Rochester has been a city that has voted Democrat since 2005!
Callaghan will replace Elaine Lauterborn, who was elevated to mayor upon the retirement of Mayor Caroline McCarley earlier this year. Lauternborn did not seek reelection.
“I’m honored to continue my service to our great city as the next mayor of Rochester,” Callaghan said in a prepared statement from his campaign. “It is one of the greatest privileges of my life to continue to give back to the community that has given me so much. Together, we’ll move Rochester forward and keep our city a great place to live, work and raise a family. Now, let’s get to work.”
The New England area is known for being a bit on the liberal side, but it looks like that tide is starting to changing a little bit more.
