One of the key components to the legal barriers President Trump has put in place is bilateral agreements that were reached with Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras. 

These agreements allowed the United States to send migrants back to these respective countries if their asylum was initially denied.

Among other moves that Biden is expected to make, these agreements are being targeted to get shredded as soon as Biden gets into office. 

Tear Them Up

CBS was among the first major outlets to report that Biden officials will be making some big changes in regard to the immigrant policies of this country. 

The report stated, “A source familiar with the Biden team’s planning said the incoming administration will withdraw from the three bilateral agreements Mr. Trump brokered with Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras that allow the U.S. to send rejected asylum-seekers to those countries and have them seek refuge there.”

It Gets Worse

This is only one change that Biden wants to make, with other changes being even worse.

For instance, Biden recently revealed that his administration will increase the refugee cap from 15,000, a cap put in place by Trump, to 125,000 refugees per year. 

Biden has discussed giving blanket amnesty to DACA recipients and possibly their immediate family members. He has also talked about both increasing the yearly legal immigration cap as well as allowing a one-time influx of roughly two million immigrants in his first year. 

All of this would be happening at a time when the country is still in recovery mode with a situation that could be even more dire by the time Biden takes office. 

Members of Biden’s COVID task force are talking about a prolonged lockdown or, at the very least, targeted closures, either of which would cost more jobs and force more small business owners to close their doors permanently. 

Between some type of expected lockdown and a significant increase in non-skilled labor, the future of the middle class is now at risk in this country. There is a very real likelihood that if this all plays out as expected, unemployment would skyrocket and wages would crash, holding the entire middle-class in this country hostage to the government, exactly what Democrats, especially the far-left uber-progressives like Bernie Sanders and AOC, want to have happen.
