Squad member, Representative Rashida Tlaib is still going at it with the Detroit Police Department and their use of facial recognition software.

She initially called the system “bull***t” on Twitter, saying, @detroitpolice You should probably rethink this whole facial recognition bulls**t.

In response to her inappropriate tweet, the Detroit Police Department invited her to come witness the software in person to which she agreed.

Rep. Tlaib is then caught on video suggesting that the software is faulty and suggested that Chief Craig should employ only African Americans to operate the program, because she thinks “non-African Americans think African Americans all look the same.” Watch this video to see it for yourself.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig says that there is a double standard because if he had made that remark people would be calling for his job.

“Here’s what’s troubling,” Craig said, “As a police chief who happens to be African-American in this city, if I made a similar statement, people would be calling for my resignation … Is it a double-standard?

But nevertheless, Tlaib stood by her statement, “I stand behind my comment that facial recognition technology is broken and that relying on an analyst that might not be reflective of the suspect is flawed in itself as well.”

It’s true and it’s also true that her remark is entirely racist. She’s saying that a white person can’t do their job because they’re white and that a black person can do it better. Why is that? Because she says white people think all blacks look alike.

This is ABSURD to the most absurd level imaginable.

I do NOT think that all black people look alike. I don’t black people look any more similar to other blacks than I do white people looking similar to other white people.
