President Trump Announces the One Thing That Would Keep Him from Running in 2024
The question of whether or not President Trump is going to run in the 2024 Presidential election is still up in the air, at least on our end of things it is.
There have been hints all along and especially one in particular very recently that seems to suggest that President Trump actually would and will run again.
You may remember that during a game of golf, President Trump was seen on camera saying that he is the 45th and 47th President of the United States of America, implying that he would win in the next election.
However, during an interview recently, President Trump admitted to the interviewer that there was one thing that would stop him from running again in 2024.
According to the man himself, the only thing that would stop him from running is his health.
He said that he was told by his advisors that this would be a factor going forward as he is now 75 years old. He would be close to 80 years old by the time would become president once again.
“You always have to talk about health. You look like you’re in good health, but tomorrow, you get a letter from a doctor saying come see me again,” Trump told the Washington Post. ‘That’s not good when they use the word ‘again,’” Trump added, saying he is in good health.
“I don’t want to comment on running, but I think a lot of people are going to be very happy by my decision,” the former president said, adding that if he does run, other prominent Republicans like former Vice President Mike Pence, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo won’t oppose him in a GOP primary.
“If I ran, I can’t imagine they’d want to run. Some out of loyalty would have had a hard time running,” he said in reference to the three. “I think that most of those people, and almost every name you mentioned, is there because of me. In some cases, because I backed them and endorsed them.”
I actually think that Mike Pence would run against President Trump, but who knows. I guess we’ll find out when that time comes, but I would imagine that the field would be much smaller than it was for the 2016 election.
