In a shocking reveal, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) repeatedly dodged the question of whether Kamala Harris was the best running mate for Joe Biden. The exchange occurred during an interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360°.”

Cooper repeatedly asked Pelosi, “Is Vice President Kamala Harris the best running mate for this president?” Pelosi, in a clear attempt to sidestep the question, responded, “He thinks so, and that’s what matters.” Not once did Pelosi explicitly endorse Harris as the best choice for Biden’s running mate. Instead, she deflected, offering vague praise for Harris’s political acumen.

Pelosi stated, “And by the way, she’s very politically astute. I don’t think people give her enough credit… Why would she be vice president if she were not?” She went on to cite Harris’s rise from a mere 6% in the polls when running for attorney general in California to eventually securing the position.

When Cooper pressed Pelosi yet again about whether Harris is truly the best running mate, Pelosi responded, “She’s the vice president of the United States… That’s the job description. You don’t do that much.” This statement, while seemingly defensive, could also be interpreted as a subtle dig at Harris’s role and performance as vice president.
