Pelosi Promotes New Book
Hello everyone! Let’s dive into the latest political intrigue surrounding former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President Joe Biden. Pelosi has recently opened up about her concerns regarding Biden’s political operations and her role in what many are calling a mutiny against him. She didn’t hold back in her conversation with the New Yorker, stating, “They won the White House. Bravo. But my concern was: This ain’t happening, and we have to make a decision for this to happen.”
Pelosi, at 84, is on a book tour promoting her memoir, “The Art of Power,” which has also doubled as a sort of cleanup tour to clarify her involvement in Biden’s 2024 campaign struggles. Despite her candid remarks, she continues to publicly praise Biden, calling him a “consequential president” comparable to historical figures like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. This public admiration, however, hasn’t fully quelled rumors about tension between the two, especially following reports that Pelosi questioned Biden’s chances of re-election.
During an interview with CBS News, when asked if Biden was frustrated with her, Pelosi emphasized, “He knows that I love him very much.”
Really, because it doesn’t sound like it.
Pelosi has a long career in Congress, nearly four decades, known for her strategic and often ruthless political maneuvers. Initially, she defended Biden after a lackluster debate performance against former President Donald Trump, but her stance shifted quickly. On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” she hinted that Biden needed to make a decision about his campaign, stating, “It’s up to the president to decide if he is going to run. We’re all encouraging him to make that decision because time is running short.”
There were even reports of Pelosi challenging Biden with polling data suggesting he couldn’t win. She reportedly had Biden put his advisor, Mike Donilon, on the phone to discuss the data. Furthermore, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries also had tough conversations with Biden about his campaign.
Despite these intense discussions, Pelosi insists she never actively campaigned against Biden, stating, “I never called one person. Any conversation I had, it was just going to be with him.” However, she admits that many people called her with concerns about Biden’s campaign.
Pelosi’s main goal was clear: to prevent Donald Trump from returning to the White House. She emphasized that her actions were meant to push Biden towards a stronger campaign, not to undermine him. Since these events, Pelosi has not been in touch with Biden, expressing a hope for reconciliation, “I pray so. I cry so. I lose sleep on it, yeah.”
Reflecting on Biden’s debate performance, Pelosi revealed her initial confidence, believing Biden would excel. She downplayed the challenge, thinking, “Trump will be so awful.” However, she admitted the debate outcome was shocking and described Trump as “doggy doo-doo,” expressing her dismay.
