NORAD Reports On Incident Off Alaska Coast
Hello everyone, welcome back. Today, we’re discussing some noteworthy news involving the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD as it’s commonly known.
Just recently, NORAD reported sending out fighter jets to intercept not one, but two Russian Tu-95 “Bear” bombers and two Chinese H-6 bombers. This incident took place right off the coast of Alaska. The agency confirmed this in a press release, stating it had detected, tracked, and intercepted these aircraft operating in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone on July 24.

The operation was a joint effort involving NORAD fighter jets from both the United States and Canada.
What makes this incident so alarming is that it’s the first time Russia and China have flown a joint bomber patrol off Alaska.
NORAD just released images of USAF and RCAF fighters intercepting a group of Chinese and Russian bombers that entered Alaska’s ADIZ yesterday.

This report was made public less than an hour before President Biden was set to address the nation in his first public address since announcing he would not be running for a second term in office.

According to NORAD, “The Russian and PRC aircraft remained in international airspace and did not enter American or Canadian sovereign airspace. This Russian and PRC activity in the Alaska ADIZ is not seen as a threat, and NORAD will continue to monitor competitor activity near North America and meet presence with presence.”
The probe of aircraft comes after a US Coast Guard ship on regular patrol came in contact with Chinese warships in international waters, but within the U.S. exclusive economic zone, officials said.
