New Muslim Representative Calls To “Impeach The Mother****er!” Hours After Being Sworn In
Representative Rashida Tlaib is one of the newest representatives to have been sworn in on Thursday and she’s wasted no time in stirring up controversy.
This is her freshman term, meaning this is her first time serving as a Representative of her state of Michigan.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib began calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump literally just hours after being sworn in.
When speaking to a crowd Thursday night, the Muslim woman from Michigan stated, “People love you and you win. And when your son looks at you and says, ‘Momma, look you won. Bullies don’t win.’ And I said, ‘Baby, they don’t, because we’re gonna go in there and we’re gonna impeach the mother***er.’”
Rashida Tlaib is one of two Muslim women to have been sworn in yesterday (on a Quran I might add).
She further said, “President Donald Trump is a direct and serious threat to our country. On an almost daily basis, he attacks our Constitution, our democracy, the rule of law and the people who are in this country. Each passing day brings more pain for the people most directly hurt by this president, and these are days we simply cannot get back. The time for impeachment proceedings is now.”
In order to remove a sitting president, the US Constitution requires conviction of treason, bribery, or high crimes or misdemeanors.
From there the impeachment of a sitting US President is a two-part process.
First, the House of Representatives must investigate the charges and then prosecute. After this step, the US Senate would serve as the judge and jury and handles the conviction. To convict the President and have him removed from office would require a two-thirds majority. The Senate is currently still under Republican control and therefore this will never happen.
Democrats are once again wasting their time and energy and our money doing something that isn’t’ going to amount to anything. They could be doing something productive, but they’d rather hold a grudge over nothing.
