Neil deGrasse Tyson Tweets Stats About El Paso… Liberals EXPLODE
World-renowned astrophysicist and atheist, Neil deGrasse Tyson put out a tweet over the weekend in regards to the shooting that took place inside a Walmart in El Paso.
The tweet consists of some facts, but people are really bothered by it.
According to Fox News,
Astrophysicist and television personality Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson sparked backlash for a tweet Sunday he wrote following this weekend’s mass shootings in Dayton and El Paso, showing an apparent low death rate when compared with other types of tragedies.
In the tweet, Tyson listed several other means by which Americans perish every 48 hours, and claimed emotion often clouds the facts in situations like these.
The tweet read,
In the past 48hrs, the USA horrifically lost 34 people to mass shootings.
On average, across any 48hrs, we also lose…
500 to Medical errors
300 to the Flu
250 to Suicide
200 to Car Accidents
40 to Homicide via Handgun
Often our emotions respond more to spectacle than to data.

Well, quite a few people didn’t like what Tyson said and figured they’d let him know about it:
“How do you not see the difference between an honest medical error and someone being needlessly killed by a white supremacist? Stick to gatekeeping science”

“On average, across any 48 hrs, people need to get medical help, Catch the flu, & drive. They don’t need the types of weapons and accessories that are often used in shootings such as these. For a guy who often likes to show the world how smart he is, this is a really stupid tweet.”

“Neil… Within the context of fame, there usually comes a time when you need to step back & consider where you’re placing your priority: the volume & tenor of your voice, or the greater good. This… RIGHT HERE… is your moment. Sit back, re-read your words, and take a moment.”
