MSNBC Legal Analyst Claims President Trump is “Toast”…Here’s Why
Former U.S. Attorney and MSNBC Legal Analyst Harry Litman says Donald Trump is toast. He thinks that there is nothing that he can do now to save his skin. He must not know President Trump very well. But still, it’s interesting to understand why he is saying what he is saying, so let’s take a look.
“It seems to me and has seen for a whole he is toast legally,” Litman stated. “But he’s got this one strange escape route. If we or a Republican can win the election, and he can make DOJ stand down. That’s his only legal strategy. It’s a strange one. But there is no other, I think, escape route for him under the conventional legal process.”
Litman analyzed whether Trump’s legal issues would have any impact on his popularity, following earlier analysis by Washington Post columnist Philip Bump, who had claimed that Trump’s legal troubles would not affect his popularity at all.
“First of all, Donald Trump is doing much better now than he ever did in 2016,” Bump said.
“He got more votes in 2020 than 2016,” explained Bump, “That has carried over. There is nothing that is going to happen that hasn’t already happened that almost certainly is going to change that.”
Sadly, he’s not the only one who feels this way. Even his own former Attorney General Bill Barr thinks that Trump’s run is over. Chris Christie said the same thing suggesting that even if a fraction of the charges stick that he’s done.
But as I said, Trump isn’t backing down, nor should he. We all know what he’s been putting up with since 2015. Trump is a powerhouse and Bump is correct, he’s not going to lose any popularity because of this indictment. I’m sure Democrats would do the same thing if it were Joe Biden
