[Movie Review] Uncle Tom – An Eye Opening Movie About Black America
Most people would agree that racism has become a much more prevalent topic over the last 10-15 years. Many movies and books have been written about racism in the US but nearly all of these stories are told with the liberal narrative in mind.
Enter the new movie Uncle Tom, a documentary that gives us an entirely different perspective on black and racism political issues. Directed by Justin Malone, this movie features several prominent black conservative leaders, such as Larry Elder, Candace Owens, Allen West, Brandon Tatum, and the late Herman Cain. Uncle Tom is available to rent on Amazon and Youtube, for $3.99.
“An Uncle Tom is somebody who has sold out by embracing the white man, by becoming a Republican, by rejecting the idea that you’re a victim, by supporting things like hard work, accountability, and low taxes, by refusing to think of yourself as a black person first as opposed to as an American who is black.”
— Larry Elder
The story tells us about life in America as a black person prior to the welfare movement of the 1960s. A time when blacks were facing actual racism issues but were still growing economically at a better rate than they are in 2020. Black families were staying together instead of the current problems that lead to over 70% of black children being born into single mother homes. Black crime was significantly lower and education was rising quickly.
“And what the welfare state has done, in my opinion, is incentivize Black women to marry the government, and allow men to abandon their financial and moral responsibilities to their families. We’ve gone from 25% of Black kids born outside wedlock in 1965, to nearly 70% now. You cannot attribute that to Jim Crow and racism. It has to do with bad government policy.”
— Larry Elder
The movie starts with a look back at the election of Obama and ends in present times with commentary on how Trump has impacted black America. The movie clearly explains how the Democrat party is responsible for the rise in black poverty. How they were the party opposed to the Civil Rights Act, in support of Jim Crow Law, and founders of the KKK. These facts are being hidden from all Americans, especially black people.
This documentary shows what could be for black America if they (the 90% that vote Democrat every election) would wake up from the illusion of liberal Democrat policy. An impressive cast shows us the type of leadership that black America truly needs to embrace. There is no shortage of incredibly smart and talented black people in this country that think contrary to the leftist narrative. Uncle Tom is very well done, educational, and a must see if you want to really understand black politics in America.
Hopefully, young black Americans can learn from this movie and chart a different course. My fear is that the older generations are too heavily invested in the Democrat ideology to wake up.
