Media SILENT As Biden Administration’s Inhuman Practices at Detention Facilities
Democrats are some of the worst people there. I’ve said it before and it’s still true.
One of the things that I hate the most about them is their unbelievable hypocrisy. Repeatedly, we heard from the Democrats how terrible President Trump was and likened his actions at the border to that of Hitler, keeping them in “concentration camps”. You probably even remember, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did a photo op down at the border to try and show how heartbreaking it was down there.
A “staggering number” of migrant children detained at a Border Patrol facility in south Texas face overcrowded conditions, with some held for as long as seven days, lawyers who interviewed them on Thursday told CBS News.
Neha Desai, a lawyer representing migrant youth in U.S. government custody, said she interviewed children who said they were hungry, as well as minors who only showered once in seven days.
“Some of the boys said that conditions were so overcrowded that they had to take turns sleeping on the floor,” Desai added, citing interviews with nearly a dozen unaccompanied migrant children held at the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) holding facility in Donna, Texas.
On March 2, the Donna complex was holding more than 1,800 people — 729% of its pandemic-era capacity, which is designed for 250 migrants, according to an internal CBP document reviewed by CBS News.
But that’s not all either…
Last week, CNN reported children at the border are being held longer than legally allowed, 39% longer as a matter of fact. Also, they are holding more children without parents than President Trump ever did.
Thousands of migrant children who crossed the US-Mexico border alone are being held in US Border Patrol custody for more than four days on average in facilities unfit for minors, a dramatic increase from a week ago, according to internal documents reviewed by CNN.
The data, dated Tuesday, is the latest indication of the challenge facing the Biden administration to address the bottleneck in the immigration system, with the number of unaccompanied children outpacing the availability of proper shelter space to care for kids.
On average, over the last 21 days, Customs and Border Protection encountered 435 unaccompanied children daily, up from a previous average of around 340 children.
They are staying in facilities for 107 hours on average, longer than the 72 permitted under US law. A week ago, the average time was 77 hours.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration is still pretending that there is no crisis at the border, but in reality, it’s a dam that’s ready to bust and that would be a prime time for the cartels to put up an attack and cause some serious damage at the border. Biden better step it up and stop ignoring the problem.
