McDonalds Customer Gets Unexpected Item with Breakfast Order
It looks like McDonald’s has taken their slogan “I’m Lovin’ It” to a whole new level. And by that, I mean a level that involves crack pipes and health code violations. Yes, you heard it right. One unsuspecting customer in Columbus, Ohio, got a little more than they bargained for with their drive-thru breakfast order.
This poor soul had the misfortune of finding a crack pipe in their meal, as reported by the New York Post. Now, I’ve heard of Happy Meals, but this is taking things a bit too far. The shocked customer immediately took to Reddit to share their experience before returning the bag to the restaurant. But rather than accept a refund, they did the sensible thing and reported the incident to Franklin County Public Health.
And boy, did the health inspectors have a field day. Not only did they close down the restaurant, but they also found a treasure trove of health code violations. Construction workers were traipsing through the restaurant, leaving dust on food prep counters and equipment. Debris, screws, unassembled computer equipment, and even wooden trim pieces were found on beverage service equipment. Cellphones were even discovered on the grill. Talk about a recipe for disaster.
But wait, there’s more! The inspectors also noted that the restaurant was out of compliance with basic food safety measures such as cleaning and sanitizing food surfaces and protecting food from contamination. Looks like someone needs a refresher course in Food Safety 101.
The franchise owner, Alex Mendoza, tried to brush off the closure as a simple “dust issue” from the construction work. Nice try, Mendoza, but last time I checked, dust doesn’t come in the form of a crack pipe. He did, however, state that his company takes the safety of customers seriously and has launched an internal review. Well, better late than never, I suppose.
So, there you have it. The golden arches in Ohio have taken a serious hit. But let’s be real here, this isn’t just about one McDonald’s location. It’s about maintaining basic health and safety standards in all food establishments. Because the last thing anyone wants with their Egg McMuffin is a side of crack pipe and construction dust. And on that note, I think I’ll stick to making my own breakfast from now on.
