Man Finds Disgusting and Dangerous Item in His Morning Breakfast
A Los Angeles man found something extremely disgusting in his morning breakfast when he went to enjoy a classic cereal.
When he poured his Cinnamon Toast Crunch, he found what appeared to be shrimp tails in his cereal.
Ummmm @CTCSquares – why are there shrimp tails in my cereal? (This is not a bit) pic.twitter.com/tTjiAdrnVp

The man, oddly enough, is Jensen Karp, who is the husband of Danielle Fishel who you may remember as Topanga Lawrence from the TV show “Boy Meets World”.
Now, coincidentally, I used to work for a dry food manufacturing company, one of the largest in the country and there are a few things that really make me think that something fishy is going on here (pun intended).
Having been very familiar with the process, there isn’t a lot of room for something as completely random as shrimp tails to get accidentally placed in a bag of cereal.
You have to consider that the ingredients come in bags from other companies and they are then combined at the factory to make the cereal. Once it is made, it goes through hoppers with screens and other measures to ensure that objects that aren’t supposed to be there aren’t there. There are multiple samples taken and sent to the lab to be analyzed before the food can be shipped out, not to mention that there are samples taken of each ingredient as well.
So if indeed there were shrimp tails found in the cereal, they were purposely placed there by someone else.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch issued a public statement regarding the incident:
“While we are still investigating this matter, we can say with confidence that this did not occur at our facility. We are waiting for the consumer to send us the package to investigate further. Any consumers who notice their cereal box or bag has been tampered with, such as the clear tape that was found in this case, should contact us at 1-800-328-1144.”
Aha! Another key detail…the box or bag was tampered with and had tape on it! This should have been a huge red flag and no reason to call out Cinnamon Toast Crunch for this. His food was tampered with.
UPDATE: my wife has a stronger stomach than me and checked the OTHER bag in the family pack. This one seems taped up (?) and also appears to include…(I don’t even want to say it)…dental floss. pic.twitter.com/yKPkpx7PWq

Honestly, I don’t think either side is handling the situation very well. Karp is being a jerk and claiming that he doesn’t want to send them to be analyzed because he wants proof that it’s not sugar. Well, if he doesn’t send them, they can’t investigate properly.
On the other hand, Cinnamon Toast Crunch/General Mills seems to be doing a poor job taking care of this as well.
After further investigation with our team that closely examined the image, it appears to be an accumulation of the cinnamon sugar that sometimes can occur when ingredients aren't thoroughly blended. We assure you that there's no possibility of cross contamination with shrimp.

Should I take MY shrimp tail to a lab? I’m all-in. pic.twitter.com/QCWuqCKgH6

I plan on continuing full transparency for those concerned about their products. This is the first I’ve heard from them since yesterday (when they said they were sending an envelope) and my new response. pic.twitter.com/EYugRvLbtC
