LOOK! GOP House Stacks Oversight Committee with True Conservatives!
Republicans are in charge of the House of Representatives once again and they’re getting to work. Despite having a RINO as Speaker of the House, he has stacked the deck on the House Oversight Committee by selecting several true conservative members of Congress to serve on the committee. These are some people who are prominent firebrands and people whose committee assignments had previously been stripped by House Democrats.
Included in this new lineup are Reps. Kelly Armstrong (R-ND), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Tim Burchett (R-TN), Eric Burlison (R-MO), Byron Donalds (R-FL), Chuck Edwards (R-NC), Russell Fry (R-SC), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Nick Langworthy (R-NY), Jake LaTurner (R-KS), Gary Palmer (R-AL), Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), Scott Perry (R-PA), Lisa McClain (R-MI ), Pete Sessions ( R – TX) and William Timmons R – SC).
Just after the Steering Committee’s selections, Rep. Boebert took to Twitter to express her excitement, tweeting: “I’m honored to be joining the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. Chairman @RepJamesComer let’s get to work!” The selection must now be approved by a vote from the entire House Republican conference which usually follows through with the committee’s recommendations.
Prior to assuming majority control of the House, Joe Biden’s White House had declared they would not comply with GOP oversight requests. However, recently Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer initiated an investigation into the White House’s handling of classified documents following reports that multiple boxes of records from Biden’s time as Vice President were found in various locations.
The appointment of Reps. Green and Gosar is particularly noteworthy since both were removed from their committee assignments during the previous Congress due to social media activity or posting a controversial anime edited video respectively. Going forward, under Republican leadership, it is expected that investigations will take place regarding Biden’s decisions on matters such as border security, fentanyl crises, energy crisis, withdrawal from Afghanistan and Hunter Biden’s business dealings as well as probing into the origins of the pаndemic.
The Biden White House is obstructing congressional investigations into:
❌border & fentanyl crises
❌energy crisis
❌Afghanistan withdrawal
❌COVID origins
❌Biden family's influence peddlingWe are undeterred.
Oversight and accountability are coming.
