Let’s face it…kids are stupid. We are all stupid when we’re young and it’s okay…to an extent.

Think about all the phases that you went through when you were young. I can recall mine very vividly.

There were times where I wanted to be black. There were times that I wanted to be Native American. There were times that I wanted to be punk. There were times that I wanted to be goth. There was even a point where I called myself “metrosexual”. Do you remember that one? Oxford defines a metrosexual man as “a young, urban, heterosexual male with liberal political views, an interest in fashion, and a refined sense of taste.”

Yeah, so I can easily say that kids are stupid. But one of the things that makes them this way is a desire to fit in as well as a desire to be unique. So it’s really no surprise that more and more younger people are identifying as being LGBT.

A recent Gallup poll shows that the number of people who identify as LGBT has increased from 4.5% in 2017 up to 5.6% in 2020.

When I first saw this number I just instinctively thought of the younger generation, essentially my theory that I stated above. But I wanted to really look at the numbers and see if I’m right. Well, I found them and here’s what they show:

Traditionalists (born before 1946) have a LGBT rate of 1.3% of the population.
Baby Boomers (1946-1964) is 2% of the population identifying as LGBT.
Generation X (1965-1980) the number is 3.8%
Millennials (1981-1996) it’s 9.1%
Generation Z (1997-2002) that number is a whopping 15.9%.

This all goes to support my theory.

For those who believe in evolution and natural selection, mostly liberals, doesn’t this seem to be quite the contradictory from an evolutionary standpoint. Humankind cannot continue in a world where they can’t even reproduce.
