Legendary Rapper Coolio Found Dead in Bathroom
Another celebrity has passed away and I’ve got to say that this one was pretty unexpected as far as I can tell.
Don’t be surprised if someone like Mike Tyson passes away anytime soon because he seems to feel like his time is short and that he’s already got one foot out the door. But legendary rapper Coolio has passed away at the age of 59 years old.
TMZ reported that the rapper, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., died while visiting a friend.
Growing up, Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise” was probably the first some that I ever learned all of the lyrics to. I had it on cassette tape for those of you who remember what that is. It so amusing to realize that many people growing up today have no idea what a cassette tape it.
He’s also known for several other hit songs like “Fantastic Voyage” and “Too Hot”.
As a kid, I also grew up watching “Kenan and Kel” of which Coolio did the theme song for.
He reportedly went to use the bathroom at his friend’s house and did not come back for a while, prompting the friend to go looking for him. The friend found him lying on the floor, at which point he called for help.
The rapper was pronounced dead at the scene.
The report said that while an official cause of death had yet to be given, cardiac arrest was suspected.
According to reports from the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office, there is no suspicion of foul play.
I don’t know what may have led to the cardiac arrest. I do know that he has had a problem with drug addiction in the past and even said that he would probably die if he ever took cocaine again. Maybe he took cocaine again. Maybe it’s just from living a hard life and his body couldn’t take it anymore. Maybe it is from the “you-know-what”.
