KJP Melts Down After Peter Doocy Stumps Her With Terrific Question
Last week, tensions flared once again between White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy. Doocy’s incisive questioning on Biden’s border policies, referencing an Axios report, led to a momentary breakdown in the usual composure seen during White House briefings.
“Doocy’s question, referencing an Axios report, highlighted the administration’s contemplation of a legal framework reminiscent of Trump’s controversial policies, including the so-called ‘Muslim ban’ and other stringent border restrictions.”

Jean-Pierre found herself on the defensive as Doocy pressed her on why Biden would consider a border policy similar to Trump’s, given his promise of a more humane approach.
“President Biden has promised a more humane border policy than Trump. So why would he even be considering now a border policy that is more similar to Trump?”
Jean-Pierre’s response sought clarification, “What border policy are you talking about?” to which Doocy responded, “Axios is reporting that the legal authority Biden is considering using powered Trump’s Muslim ban and similar sweeping restrictions at the border.” Attempting to navigate the question without divulging too much, Jean-Pierre stated, “I’m not going to get into or comment on individual policy options that are being speculated right now.” However, she swiftly shifted the blame onto Republicans.
“We’ve been very clear about that, and we want to do it while treating people fairly and humanely, and that is consistent with our values. But look, Republicans continue to get in the way. Speaker Johnson has gotten in the way of this.”
