Kellanne Conway is no stranger to confrontation from the liberal media, but at least it’s usually all politics related.

Wolf Blitzer, on the other hand, decided that it seemed appropriate to breach that barrier and talk about her marriage to George Conway. He was going to try and set a trap for Conway and get her to speak against her husband. But Conway didn’t bite and instead, she blasted Blitzer for trying to force her into this position.

Here is the exchange between the two:

Blitzer: “It’s a political question, it’s a substantive question and I don’t want to talk about your marriage. I know that there are issues there. Your husband George Conway is a lawyer.”

Conway: “What did you just say? Did you just say there are issues there? You don’t want to talk about… why did you say that?”

Blitzer: “I don’t want to talk about your marriage… I want to talk about a substantive point that your husband, George Conway, made. He was on television all day yesterday during the first day of the impeachment hearings and he said this about the president of the United States. I just want your reaction to the substance of what he said.”

He said he doesn’t want to talk about her marriage, but that’s exactly what he’s attempting to do. Just because you say that at the beginning doesn’t mean the rest of it follows that logic.

Conway: “So Before you play the clip, which I haven’t seen, why? And why are you doing that? I’m just curious.”

He then tries to justify bringing him up because he’s a legal scholar and a lawyer.

Conway: “And the relevance is? And Come on…. drumroll. And he’s married to me?”

Blitzer tried to act like it was no big deal that he was trying to use Kellyanne Conway’s husband’s opinion against her.

Conway asked why Blitzer didn’t use CNN’s legal scholar Jeffrey Toobin.

Conway: “You don’t have to play a competitor’s clip. You can just play the CNN clip.”

Blitzer: “You should not have just said to your audience, ‘I don’t want to talk about your marriage, ‘I know there are issues.’”

Conway: “That is his opinion. And I don’t think MSNBC was lacking for anti-Trump voices and we’ve heard things like that said on CNN for three years. And we’ve heard things like that said on [MSNBC] for three years.”

Conway rightly pointed out that CNN many of other analysts to choose from to reference that have said the same thing as her husband. Blitzer was just on the attack.

Conway: “But you wanted to put it in my husband’s voice, because you think somehow that it will help your ratings or that you’re really sticking it to Kellyanne Conway. Let me be very clear, you didn’t stick it to Kellyanne Conway. I think you embarrassed yourself.”
