Every election cycle we get a lot of promises from presidential candidates. There have been promises made over the years.

This time looks to be no different than any other as we’ve already got a big promise from one candidate already.

Joe Biden made a GIGANTIC promise on Tuesday at a rally in Iowa. He promised to cure cancer if he becomes President!

According to Fox News,

At a campaign event in Ottumwa, Iowa, Biden expressed the difficulty one faces with a “loss” of a family member and others attempt to comfort them saying, “‘I know how you feel'” when in reality they have “no idea how I feel,” which is likely in reference to the loss of his son Beau Biden, who died in 2015 from brain cancer.

“That’s why I’ve worked so hard in my career to make sure that… I promise you if I’m elected president, you’re going to see the single most important thing that changes America, we’re gonna cure cancer,” Biden declared.

Everyone just loved that idea. Of course, who wouldn’t love the idea of curing cancer? That would be phenomenal.

The Hill reported,

Curing the disease has become a primary focus for Biden since his son, Beau Biden, died in 2015 of an aggressive form of brain cancer. He oversaw the “Cancer Moonshot” during his time as vice president in the Obama administration.

The initiative’s stated goal was “To make a decade’s worth of advances in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, in five years.”

After leaving office, Biden oversaw the Biden Cancer Initiative to “develop and drive implementation of solutions to accelerate progress in cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, research, and care, and to reduce disparities in cancer outcomes.”

He stepped down from the organization shortly after announcing his White House bid.

But what makes him think that just because he’s the president that he can cure cancer?
