Jill Biden Flies To Paris For Olympics
It couldn’t have been easy for President Biden to make the decision to withdraw from the race.
By the time he made the announcement, several key Democrats were calling on him to step aside.
It was embarrassing, so what does his First Lady do? Console him?
Nope, she heads off to get another moment in the spotlight.
She flew off to Paris for the Olympics.
U.S. First Lady Jill Biden visited American athletes at an Olympic training center in Paris, wishing the rugby and track and field competitors good luck and even participating in a stationary relay drill with the runners.
Biden arrived in Paris a day before the Summer Games’ opening ceremony on the Seine River. She watched athletes parade on a flotilla of boats on Friday, following a reception with French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, at the Élysée Palace.
Jill Biden spoke to the families of U.S. athletes before visiting the competitors on their practice fields.
“As they leap and sprint and turn, America’s athletes aren’t only propelled by the years of sweat and sacrifice they’ve poured into their training,” she said, standing in front of a giant USA cutout colored with the American flag. “Your love is also there, pushing them further, helping them go faster, lifting them higher as they reach for gold.”
Then, proclaimed Christian Jill Biden said the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics was wonderful and doesn’t know how the U.S. will “top this” in 2028.
“It was spectacular… I was thinking to myself, oh my God, oh my God, how are we gonna top this? How are we gonna top this?” The organizers of the opening ceremony were forced to issue an apology on Sunday after they received backlash for their mockery of Christianity. “Clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group. [The opening ceremony] tried to celebrate community tolerance… If people have taken any offence we are really sorry.”
Jill Biden is great at setting the bar so low that it’s nearly on the floor.
Joe Biden’s presidency has been one epic failure & Jill has championed it all.
No wonder she would say the worst Olympic opening ceremony in history will be hard to top. pic.twitter.com/A287ZW8FN9
