IT’S OFFICIAL! Elon Musk Now Owns Twitter and Cleaned House Immediately
At the end of last week, it became official. Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk officially took over social media platform Twitter after finalizing his purchase of the company. As part of the deal, Musk wasted no time and has reportedly fired Twitter’s CEO Parag Agrawal and a number of other top executives.
Twitter has been struggling in recent years to grow its user base and compete with other social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. The company has also been plagued by allegations of censorship and liberal bias. In February, for example, Project Veritas released undercover footage of Twitter employees admitting to censoring conservative content.
Musk has been a vocal critic of Twitter’s handling of its platform, and he has pledged to “fix” the issue of censorship on the site. It remains to be seen how Musk plans to accomplish this, but it is clear that he is not happy with the way things have been run under Agrawal’s leadership.
Musk’s takeover of Twitter initially came as something of a surprise, but it is not entirely unexpected. Earlier this year, Musk teased that he was “thinking about taking Twitter private” after complaining about the platform’s treatment of users. Obviously, we now know that Musk was serious about his intentions to purchase Twitter, and he has followed through on his promise to shake things up at the company.
Elon Musk is now in control of Twitter after finalizing his purchase of the company and that is a good thing, at least we hope it is. I’m pretty confident that it is and that he will manage to be able to fix the platform and God will…maybe bring people back down to earth and get them to stop being so hateful to everyone behind the screen. Only time will tell what changes Musk plans to implement at Twitter, but it is clear that he intends to shake things up at the social media giant.
