Harris Pitches Price Control Plan
Vice President Kamala Harris is gearing up to outline some major economic policy proposals as part of her presidential campaign.
Harris plans to call for a federal ban on corporate price-gouging. She’s aiming to make sure that large companies can’t just hike up prices to boost their profits at our expense. This isn’t just a vague promise, either—she’s got a plan ready for her first 100 days in office, should she win. This plan would involve getting the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general to investigate any companies that might be breaking the rules.
So communism basically.
Also where has she been, last we checked she’s been the Vice President of the United States.
Harris is also setting her sights on making the market more competitive. She wants to give small businesses a better shot at competing with the big meat processors, which she believes have been a big part of the problem when it comes to rising grocery costs. By cracking down on unfair mergers and acquisitions, Harris hopes to prevent further market consolidation, where just a few corporations hold too much power and can set prices as they please.
So she wants to make everything better by imposing cost controls and more regulation.
Mind you, the Biden administration couldn’t barely handle their USDA screwing up inspections of baby formula, which caused a crisis.
Additionally, it doesn’t appear that Harris will sit down with the press to explain her proposal.
Trump was just in North Carolina earlier this week, holding a rally that also focused on economic policy. He took the opportunity to point fingers at Harris, blaming her for the inflation that’s been a thorn in the side of many Americans. Trump argued that her role as the tiebreaking vote on key Democratic spending bills has been a major factor in keeping prices high.
Trump, on his part, has some proposals of his own, including extending his 2017 tax cuts and ramping up oil drilling. He’s also talking about imposing tariffs on all imports.
