It appears his colleagues have had enough. As one anonymous member told Fox News, “No one can stand him at this point… A smart guy without morals.”

But Gaetz isn’t going down without a fight. He’s planning to file a motion to remove Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) this week, a move many top Republicans see as a personal vendetta due to the ongoing Ethics Committee investigation. This investigation was initiated during the last Congress when Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was Speaker.

This move forced Republicans to cut a deal with Democrats, which left conservatives with little to celebrate.

Gaetz’s actions have drawn the ire of many prominent conservatives, including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and conservative media personality Mark Levin. Gingrich questioned whether Gaetz was secretly working for the Democratic Party, while Levin accused him and others of sabotaging the conservative spending bill.
