House GOP Issues Major Threat to Hunter Biden
It appears that we are witnessing yet another episode of the Hunter Biden Show. And let me tell you folks, this one is a real doozy. So, our good friends House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan have threatened to hold the president’s son, Hunter Biden, in contempt of Congress. Now why would they do such a thing? Oh, right. Because Hunter doesn’t want to show up for a deposition unless it’s in the spotlight. He wants a public hearing, folks.
I mean, who wouldn’t? It’s like being on reality TV, but with the thrill of possibly incriminating yourself! Hunter was handed a subpoena to appear for a deposition behind closed doors on December 13. But Hunter’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, notified the committee that he’s not interested in any private chit-chat. He wants an audience.
Now, Comer and Jordan aren’t too pleased about this. They have made it clear that Hunter isn’t getting any special treatment. They even promised to release a transcript of his testimony shortly after it took place and schedule a public hearing at a later date. But, you know, Hunter has always been a bit of a diva.
But here’s the kicker. Comer and Jordan have sent a stern reply to Lowell’s letter, essentially saying that Hunter doesn’t get to call the shots. The subpoenas compel him to appear for a deposition on December 13, whether he likes it or not.
And if he doesn’t show up? Well, that’s where the contempt of Congress proceedings come into play. But don’t worry, Hunter has his defenders. House Oversight Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin blasted Republicans, accusing them of wanting to misquote Hunter. He even brought up Jim Jordan ignoring his own subpoena. Well, isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black?
So, what’s next in this political soap opera? Will Hunter show up for his deposition? Will he be held in contempt of Congress? Will he get his public hearing? Only time will tell.
