Alarming Number of Gen Z Americans Have Positive View of Bin Laden
A recent survey conducted by J.L. Partners and Daily Mail has revealed a shocking statistic: one in five young Americans has a positive view of Osama Bin Laden. Yep. You read that right – Bin Laden, the founder of al-Qaeda, the mastermind behind the September 11 terrorist attacks that killed 2,977 innocent people.
The survey specifically asked respondents to describe their view of Bin Laden. The results showed that 20% of those aged between 18-29 have an at least somewhat positive view of him. A further 8% have a completely positive view, while 52% have an at least somewhat negative view. It’s worth noting that 17% of young Americans expressed mixed feelings about Bin Laden, and 11% said they don’t know.
These findings are deeply concerning. They highlight a growing disconnect between younger generations and the reality of the 9/11 attacks. It’s alarming to think that some young Americans are expressing positive views of a terrorist responsible for such destruction and loss of life.
This survey coincides with a disturbing trend on TikTok, where young Americans are recirculating Bin Laden’s 2002 letter justifying the 9/11 attacks. Some TikTokers are even comparing America’s actions to those of Bin Laden, suggesting that America has been terrorizing people throughout history. This reflects a revisionist and anti-American narrative pushed by the radical left.
TikTok has stated it is working to remove content promoting Bin Laden’s letter, as it violates their rules on supporting terrorism. But the fact that such content exists and has gained traction among young Americans is deeply worrying.
Political rhetoric also seems to be influencing young Americans’ views. The left’s constant anti-America rhetoric may be swaying some young Americans to view Bin Laden positively. There’s a critical need for leaders and influencers to counter these narratives and educate young people about the true nature of terrorism and the importance of remembering the victims of 9/11.
Republican Representative Mike Gallagher has condemned the trend on TikTok. He stressed the horrific acts committed by Bin Laden and the true face of evil shown in videos of Hamas killing infants and beheading innocent civilians. He called the suggestion that America is at fault or that Bin Laden was right “absolutely disgusting.”
The survey results underscore the need for ongoing education and awareness about the realities of terrorism. It’s vital to counter revisionist narratives and ensure that the memory of the victims of 9/11 is honored and respected.
