Heroic Story of Man Who Killed School Shooter Will Give You Chills
This is a story of bravery that many of us will likely never experience ourselves. Honestly, just writing about this gives me chills…in a good way.
What happened in Uvalde, Texas is the biggest tragedy that we’ve had in many years. It’s saddening and sickening. There is so much that I could say about what happened that say on top of all that I’ve already said, but I think that there is something about that day that is worth mentioning.
As you are probably aware of, it wasn’t police who took down the shooter that day, it was U.S. Border Patrol agents. But how that took place is something that you could honestly make a movie about.
The dedication, the love, and the determination of one man that day is what it means to be a father, a husband, and a hero.
Jacob Albarado, a Latino Border Patrol agent, had just sat down for a haircut when his wife, a Robb Elementary School teacher, emailed him and told him what was going on and asked for his help.
“There’s an active shooter,” she said. “Help. I love you.”
Albarado’s barber gave him a shotgun, according to the New York Times, and Albarado then hurried out of the barbershop and sped to the school.
The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week that out of the roughly 150 Border Patrol agents stationed in the area, approximately 80 agents responded to the incident.
“Initially, the Bortac agents couldn’t get into the classroom because of a steel door and cinder block construction,” the report said. “Meanwhile, the gunman … shot at them through the door and walls.”
“The Bortac agents got a master key from the school principal that allowed them to enter the room,” the report added. “One Bortac agent’s shield was hit by rounds upon entering and a second agent was wounded by shrapnel. A third killed the suspect.”
Bill Melugin of Fox News tweeted a photo of the Border Patrol agent’s cap that he was wearing when he killed the assailant.
“This is the hat the elite, veteran BORTAC Border Patrol agent was wearing when he breached the classroom with a tactical team and engaged/killed the Uvalde school shooter, a CBP source tells me,” Melugin tweeted. “Graze wound to head. Many BP agents in Uvalde have kids at the school.”

This man is a hero and the epitome of what it means to be a father and a husband. Without regard for his own life, he rushed to the scene to save his wife. This man deserves a medal for his bravery.
