Glorious Meltdown! Liberals Losing Their Heads Over Twitter Buyout
Liberals are going absolutely crazy after learning that Elon Musk is now going to be the owner of Twitter.
To be honest, I have no idea why they’re so up in arms about this. What do they think is going to happen exactly?
What it is, is that they’re mad that conservatives will once again have a voice on the platform without being censored for even suggesting something like the 2020 election not being fair.
Liberals do not believe in free speech anymore. They believe in compelled speech and free speech only so far as you’re expressing an opinion that they agree with, otherwise, it’s hate speech and you’re being violent towards them with your words.
They are quite a circus act if you ask me.
Anyway, Musk has bought the company and is going to make the platform great. But what really surprises me is just how many people, including conservatives are suspicious about this buyout. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve seen say things like they hope for the best, but they’re unsure about his true agenda.
These people honestly don’t know much about Elon Musk, because if you’ve watched him speak very much, he is very open about everything, including his own personal life.
Just this morning I saw a friend of mine post on Facebook saying, “Not sure I trust Elon Musk buying and taking over Twitter. We will see.” That remark isn’t too big a deal, but I think it’s unfounded.
But the real kicker was someone in the comments section who replied, “I don’t. I think it’s all a play to bring in government control over social media/free speech.”
I can appreciate the comment that someone else said in response to that in which he said, “You really think he just spent $44 billion so the government can control his company?”
And that’s the whole idea in a nutshell right there. Why would Elon Musk, who is buying the company BECAUSE of the large government control over the company already and the censoring of free speech, turn control of the company over to the government so that they can implement more censorship? That makes no sense whatsoever.
He has already said what he plans to do with it in principle and that’s to make the platform open and the algorithms open as well. As he said before, transparency is a beautiful thing.
But others have expressed similar thoughts:
I still fear that having Elon Musk take over Twitter is bad for democracy, as I argued, but I fervently hope he proves me wrong. He can do some good if he cleans out the bots and fine-tunes, rather than jettisons, the content moderation policies. https://t.co/NyDMBSu5TX

I just don’t understand how they would think that it’s bad for democracy when Twitter is already bad for democracy! Also, Max Boot said that he should fine-tine and not jettison the content moderation policies…he’s already said that this is exactly what he’s going to do.
If you haven’t already watched his TED Talk interview, let me encourage you to do so and you’ll feel much at ease with this buyout and Elon Musk as a person.
But here are a few other liberals melting down over the buyout:
If he really thinks he can create that same toxic, high school bully, 80s South Africa world here and somehow monetize that, he should maybe stick to sending compensatory technology to "near space" for his fellow men with more money and time on their hands than interesting ideas.

Other than being filled with death threats, racial slurs, and fake recipes for play-doh that actually produce napalm, the sites are simply unusable from a basic user experience level.
Admins get bored of running a hellsite filled with garbage and let the bad stuff dominate.

Laura Gómez, former head of localization for Twitter, says @elonmusk owning Twitter is one of the greatest threats to American elections. In 2020, Twitter was one of the platforms that censored reporting that was damaging to candidate Biden. #ElonMusk #ElonMuskBuyTwitter pic.twitter.com/SB650uJ39g

But hey, if they want to leave Twitter, good riddance. They shouldn’t be on there in the first place if that’s the way that they see it.
